UAE became the first Arab country to deliver its spacecraft to a neighboring planet
The space agency of the United Arab Emirates reported that its unmanned vehicle reached Mars and successfully entered the orbit of the Red Planet.
The announcement was made on the official Twitter account of the Martian mission, dubbed “Amal” (“Hope”).
“Success! Contact with the Hope probe has been re-established. Mars orbit launch completed,” the tweet reads.
The probe’s successful launch made the UAE the fifth country in the world to reach the Red Planet and the first in the Arab world.
