The Ukrainian opposition has started collecting signatures for the impeachment of President Vladimir Zelensky, Ilya Kiva, a Verkhovna Rada MP from the Opposition Platform – For Life, said on his Facebook page.
“A historic moment! The collection of signatures of people’s deputies for the impeachment of President Zelensky has begun,” the deputy wrote.
The photo attached to the post shows a form with nine signatures.
On February 2, Zelensky, by his decree, enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions on the Ukrainian TV channels 112 Ukraine, NewsOne, and ZiK for a period of five years. After his decree, the channels stopped broadcasting. The TV channels themselves accused the head of state of “political reprisals against unwanted media”.
Subsequently, the Ukrainian party Opposition Platform – For Life announced the beginning of the impeachment proceedings against President Volodymyr Zelenski. The head of the presidential office, Andriy Yermak, said that there were no grounds to talk about impeachment.
