US can prepare nuclear test in several months - Pentagon

As emphasized in the American defense department, for such actions, the head of state must be indicated.
If the US president gives the relevant instructions, the Pentagon will be able to conduct a nuclear test in a few months. This was announced on May 26 by the Defense News newspaper with reference to the acting first deputy assistant to the head of the Pentagon, Drew Walter.
As Walter pointed out, according to his understanding, the test “can take place relatively quickly,” its holding “is possible within months if the president instructs”.
He also added that there is a place in Nevada where underground nuclear tests can be conducted.
Recall, May 22, it became known that US authorities are discussing the possibility of conducting the first nuclear test since 1992.
According to WSJ, this issue was raised on May 15 at a meeting of US officials from departments involved in national security.
