US may allocate 3.8 billion dollars to “contain Russia”

The U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Armed Forces proposes $ 3.8 billion to “contain Russia” next fiscal year, the U.S. defense budget committee said.
“Fully fund the European containment initiative and provide an additional $ 3.798 billion for strategic shipping, satellite communications, refueling, submarine and anti-submarine warfare, which reinforce deterrence against Russia,” the document says.

It is also proposed within the budget proposal to allocate $ 250 million to the Ukraine Assistance Initiative, of which only 50 million can be used to supply lethal weapons. The document proposes to extend the complete ban on financing any activity that may be regarded as supporting the violation of the sovereignty of Ukraine regarding the Crimean issue.
At the same time, the document recommends “continuing to limit (general) military cooperation with Russia, to expand it in terms of … a bilateral military dialogue in order to reduce the risk of conflict between the Russian Federation and the United States,
