In 2019, app store users spent $ 519 billion. This figure is a new record for the company.
The U.S. corporation told Apple that apps on the App Store earned $ 519 billion last year. This data is based on a study by Analysis Group.
Of this amount, $ 413 billion falls on purchases of goods and services.
So, 268 billion is retail (Target and Best Buy), travel applications (Expedia and United) – 57 billion, $ 40 billion – taxi services (Uber and Lyft) and 31 billion – food delivery (DoorDash and Grubhub).
In second place in terms of revenue were digital goods and services. Last year, users spent $ 61 billion on games, books, photo editors, music and video streaming.
By advertising and selling additional content within applications, it was possible to earn 45 billion. Of these, $ 20 billion came from games.
Apple noted that the App Store has about two million applications. A weekly store is visited by half a billion people from 175 countries.
