Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido has contracted COVID-19. He announced this on his Twitter.

“I responsibly inform the country that after four days in quarantine due to some malaise, I have tested positive for COVID-19,” Guaido said.

Guaidó added that there is an increase in the spread of infection in Venezuela.

It is noted that the disease is mild. Guaidó called the coronavirus “a real danger.”

Prior to that, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Russian Sputnik V vaccine.

Russia became the first country in the world to register a vaccine against COVID-19. The drug was developed by NITsEM named after Gamaleya jointly with the Russian Direct Investment Fund and was named “Sputnik V”.
