The official delegation of Abkhazia, headed by the head of presidential administration Alkhas Kvitsinia, met today with Syrian President Bashar Assad.
The Abkhazian delegation arrived in Damascus to participate in the opening ceremony of the Sukhumi embassy in Syria on October 6.
“Alhas Quicinia conveyed greetings from President Aslan Bzhania to Bashar Assad and wished peace and prosperity to the people of Syria,” the press service reports.
The head of Syria expressed a desire to personally meet his Abkhazian counterpart and discuss cooperation between the two countries.
“Alkhas Kvitsinia noted that the people of Abkhazia express support to the people of the Syrian Arab Republic in their desire to protect the country from international terrorism, to preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” – the message says.
Today the Abkhazian delegation met with Prime Minister Husein Arnus and Foreign Minister Valid Moalem.
