Vienna hosts US-Russian nuclear weapons meeting

Negotiations are held behind closed doors. Even the venue is unknown. The previous round of negotiations also took place secretly.
On Monday, June 22, Vienna hosts a meeting between US Presidential Envoy for Arms Control Marshall Billingsley and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov. According to Ukrinform, it discusses nuclear arms control. It is noted that the meeting is being held behind closed doors. Moreover, even the venue was not disclosed.

The previous round of negotiations took place on January 16 in Vienna, but it became known later.

It was previously reported that Washington invited China to the talks, but Beijing refused.

Recall, on June 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the Fundamentals of Russian nuclear deterrence policy. The document contains the conditions under which nuclear weapons can be used.
