Yerevan announced about repelling the attack of special forces on the border with Azerbaijan

Press Secretary of the Armenian Defense Ministry Shushan Stepanyan announced on Tuesday the unsuccessful attack of the Azerbaijani military on the Armenian military stronghold on the border.
“Today at 22.30 the enemy’s special forces unit launched another attack on the Fearless stronghold (in the Tavush region of Armenia – ed.). The Armenian Armed Forces unit repulsed the enemy’s attack, inflicting significant losses on him,” Stepanyan wrote on Facebook.
According to her, according to preliminary data, there are not only losses among the Azerbaijani special forces. “Among them, there are also servicemen who remained in the trap. There are no losses on the Armenian side,” Stepanyan noted.
The clash on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border has continued since July 12 in the adjacent regions – Tovuz and Tavush, which also border on Georgia and are located several hundred kilometers from Nagorno-Karabakh, where the situation is now calm. In the place of shelling, there are combat posts stationed near the village of Movses.
According to Baku, 12 Azerbaijani soldiers were killed, including the general. The Armenian side announced the death of four soldiers, as well as the injury of ten soldiers and one civilian. Azerbaijan and Armenia are shifting the blame for the shelling on each other. A number of countries and international organizations expressed concern over the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and called on the parties to dialogue. The Russian Foreign Ministry announced its readiness to act as a mediator to stabilize the situation in the region.
