Zelensky asked Biden to help Ukraine join NATO

Zelensky asked Biden

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has asked American leader Joe Biden to help Ukraine join the North Atlantic Alliance, TopNews reports, citing CNN.

“If the United States wants to see us in NATO, they have to say it bluntly and do it. Not with words, ”Zelensky said.

He also noted that the United States is “good friends” of Ukraine, but the American leadership needs to step up efforts to “contain” Russia. The head of Ukraine stressed that the country needs more money, weapons, and support to join the alliance.

On April 6, Zelensky said during telephone conversations with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg that only Ukraine’s entry into the North Atlantic Alliance can help end the conflict in Donbas.

The alliance, in turn, advised Ukraine to focus on internal reforms. The American White House stressed that the decision on Ukraine’s entry into NATO should be made by all members of the alliance.
